THE BUNGALOW HOTEL

SCOPE: Hospitality Interior Design

SQUARE FOOTAGE: 25,000

YEAR COMPLETED: In Progress, Anticipated Opening Second Quarter 2026

Commissioned by Davidson Hospitality, Watts & Dray led a seasonal refresh of the public areas and guestrooms at the iconic Bungalow Hotel in Long Branch, NJ. Drawing inspiration from the region’s surfing heritage and vibrant contemporary surroundings, the design balances historical character with modern energy. Textures and finishes were thoughtfully introduced to enhance or subtly reinterpret existing architectural features, creating a cohesive and inviting environment.

The lobby was completely reimagined to include a full bar, a grab-and-go vending restaurant, a game room, and versatile meeting spaces; all designed to be operated efficiently by a single staff member. Despite a compressed ten-week documentation timeline, the project was executed with full documentation and specifications, delivering a rejuvenated guest experience that is both engaging and operationally smart.

The result is a refreshed design that maximizes functionality, enhances comfort, and elevates the hotel’s market presence—demonstrating how thoughtful design can drive both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
